30-March-2017: Revelstoke Ride Report

Sadly bringing you the final ride report of the season, but happy to report that there is still lots of snow. Freezing levels went way up today though - close to 2000m and the snow turned a little bit to elephant snot but it was still fun and deep. It makes for a perfect reason to get out of the rain in the valley bottom to go and nab some faceshots. Visibility has not been great but as long as these pacific low pressure systems keep delivering, I will not complain. We are going through small avalanche cycles with each storm and there has been some large natural avalanches to be aware of. It is a little spooky right now with so much storm snow and wind and cornice build up, please don't let your guard down just because it is spring. Looking forward we are going to see a very brief period of high pressure with a chance of sun on Friday before the next system rolls through for Saturday. We have 2 more weeks until the caribou closures open, so let's just let it keep stacking up! On the trails we are still in good shape, there is just starting to be some dirt showing through and riding is still good from the parking lot with fun slush riding from about 1000m and below. Enjoy your weekend, stay safe and look forward to continuing to bring you ride reports next year!
