7-January-2016: La Niña Ride Report

Happy new year everyone! Hope you had a fantastic holiday and got to get out and enjoy some of the goods that were delivered to us!

I am happy to report that we have received a small reset over the last 2 days in the form of about 20cms of fresh. Although there are still some tracks to feel underneath we got lucky and it stayed soft as we avoided a melt freeze crust in our area during the period of in inversion over last weekend. There is some cold temperatures in the forecast as an arctic front hovers into the interior but the conditions should be pretty good this weekend with good visibility and decent snow. It looks like some more snow in the forecast for next week so let's hope that it holds true. Groomers have been out doing a great job on Boulder and Frisbee and pretty much every other riding area is like a donkey kick as the woops are so bad from all the traffic over the holidays. Aside from that, we are not in a drought so I am a very happy camper. Stay safe and make sure you are checking your local conditions and the bulletin at www.avalanche.ca.
